Russia announced an attack by "surface drones" on the patrol ship Sergiy Kotov in the Black Sea. The Russians claim to have neutralised the devices.

According to the Russian Defence Ministry ship was attacked tonight, 370 km from Sevastopol. There is no report about the ship damage.

Sergiy Kotov is one of the newest ships in the Russian Navy. It was laid down at the shipyard in Kerch already after the beginning of the occupation of Crimea in 2016. The ship was handed over to the fleet in June 2022, four years later than planned due to a lack of components after the sanctions.

Two months ago, the Russian Defence Ministry admitted the attack by naval drones on the ship Ivan Khurs. It claimed that the attack was "unsuccessful" and that all three vessels were destroyed. However, at least one Ukrainian drone successfully attacked a ship.
