Former MP Vadym Rabinovych (banned Opposition Platform-For Life party) was charged with treason. He spread anti-Ukrainian propaganda among the population and political leadership of the EU countries.
He published manipulative statements that harmed Ukraine's sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability, state, economic, and information security. This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) press service.
"His propaganda helped the Russian leadership to achieve its military and political goals and provided the Russian Federation with ideological assistance in carrying out subversive activities against Ukraine," the Bureau noted.
Rabinovych is hiding abroad, so a request for international legal assistance was sent to Israel.
He is facing up to 15 years in prison and confiscation of property.
Rabinovych is the third MP of the former Opposition Platform-For Life to be suspected of treason. The first was incumbent MP Oleksandr Ponomaryov, whose enterprises worked for Russians in the occupied part of Zaporizhzhya Region. The second is ex-MP Vadym Murayev, who was involved in subversive activities.
