In Kyiv Region was detained a Russian agent who was preparing attacks on the capital's thermal power plants during the heating season. He is a department director of an insurance company operating in Kyiv.

The man was remotely recruited by Russian military intelligence, reported SBU.

The man, under the guise of the insurance business, initiated personal meetings with the heads of energy generating enterprises in Kyiv. In fact, he used this as an excuse to find out information about the consequences of Russian strikes on critical energy infrastructure.

"First of all, he was interested in information about the extent of damage and the current technical condition of the power plants in Kyiv attacked by the aggressor," the SBU said.

The man transferred the information to his Russian curator.

The offender received a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 - high treason committed under martial law.

In June, the SBU detained a man who was preparing strikes on airfields in Kirovohrad Region. He is a resident of Kropyvnytskyy. To fulfill the intelligence task, the agent collected as much information as possible about the technical condition of Ukrainian airfields and the possible presence of combat aircraft and ammunition depots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
