The Norwegian government has approved the transfer of demining equipment to Ukraine, as the Armed Forces need the means to break through minefields. This is stated on the website of the Government of Norway.
"Norway will continue to support Ukraine's defence against Russia for as long as necessary. Now Ukraine needs more military and financial support. Ukraine has an urgent need for materials to break through the minefields. With this donation, Norway is making an important and necessary contribution to Ukraine's fight against the Russian invasion," said Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
The Norwegian government notes that Russian troops have set up large minefields to counter Ukrainian offensive forces.
The Norwegian government has decided to provide Ukraine with anti-aircraft missiles for the IRIS-T air defence system.
Also, a Norwegian TV channel cited an anonymous source saying that Norway had decided to become the third country to provide Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets. There is no official confirmation yet.
