The Ukrainian Defence Forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Bakhmut and Melitopol directions. They succeeded in the areas of Novodanylivka - Novoprokopivka and Mala Tokmachka - Ocherevatne. They gain foothold at their positions, fire artillery on the enemy targets, and conduct counter-battery actions.
In the Bakhmut direction, the Defence Forces continue to conduct offensive operations
south of the city of Bakhmut, gaining foothold at their positions, reports the General Staff.
"Russian occupiers conducted unsuccessful offensives in the areas of Avdiyivka, Maryinka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk Region. The enemy has significant losses in personnel, weapons and equipment, relocate units and troops, and actively uses its reserves," the statement said.
The defenders also continue to hold back the offensive of Russian troops at the Kupyansk, Lyman and Bakhmut directions. Heavy fighting continues.
The Ukrainian army has recently returned the national flag to Robotyne, Zaporizhzhya Region, that had been the subject of fierce fighting. On 22 August, the defenders entered the town with a battle. On 23 August, the Ukrainian flag was raised there. The flag with the signature of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyy was raised by the soldiers of the 47th Brigade.
