President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg discussed the supply of additional air defence systems to Ukraine from NATO member states, noted Zelenskyy at a joint press conference with Stoltenberg.
"Today, we discussed with Mr. Secretary General all the key defence issues that need to be focused on: the real situation on the battlefield and the needs of Ukrainian soldiers. I am sure that we can continue to put pressure on the aggressor so that Russia only retreats and loses. And this is the right tactic," the President emphasised.
They discussed the defence against Russian terror and the strengthening of Ukraine's air defence. Speaking of additional air defence systems, they drew attention to the expected Russian attacks on critical infrastructure.
"The Secretary General has agreed to do his best to support us, to mobilise Allies for this very purpose. We need to get through this winter together, to protect our energy infrastructure and people's lives," Zelenskyy emphasised.
According to Jens Stoltenberg, Ukraine has strong support from all NATO member states, with more than fifty countries providing defence support. The Secretary General added that NATO Allies will continue to provide Ukraine with the most advanced means to repel Russian invasion, including tanks, modern air defence systems, and will train pilots for F-16 fighters.
