In September, Ukraine has exported approximately 50,000 tonnes of products by sea.

This way of bypassing the Russian maritime blockade is used for agricultural produce as well as other products, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotskyy has told the news telethon.

"I would like to remind you once again that Ukraine and Russia have not signed a grain agreement. When there was a grain deal, Ukraine signed it with Turkey and the UN, and then Turkey and the UN signed certain documents with Russia. That is why Ukraine is not considering any options with Russia, but continues to work in its own direction," he said.

There are several routes for exporting products: the Danube region, rail and road freight transport via land corridors.

Vysotskyy added that this morning the minister held talks with the Polish Minister of Agricultural Policy on access to Baltic ports. It was agreed that product control would be transferred directly to the ports.

According to him, "step by step the work is underway" to increase transit through Poland.

In July, Russia unilaterally withdrew from the grain deal and began shelling the port infrastructure of Odesa Region, thus threatening the food security of numerous countries.

Ukraine is developing an alternative sea route and working with partners on land routes.
