Hungary has proposed to split the €50bn EU aid package to Ukraine, which is scheduled to be disbursed over 2024-2027, Bloomberg reports.
Budapest is concerned that economic support for Kyiv may weaken after the recent decision of the US Congress to withdraw $6bn in aid to Ukraine.
Last week, Hungary told EU members that 25bn euros would be enough for Ukraine at this stage, the sources said. At the midpoint of the period, it is to be determined when Kyiv will receive the remaining amount, depending on Ukraine's needs.
