The Honorary Consulate of Greece has resumed its work in Kherson, the head of the Kherson regional military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, has said on Telegram.
The institution stopped working in Kherson on 24 February 2022. Now the consulate is resuming its work despite the difficult security situation.
"It was an honour to join the opening of the diplomatic mission and to talk to Panteleimon Boumbouras, the Honorary Consul of the Hellenic Republic in Kherson. Mr Boumbouras has long been our reliable partner. And thanks to his foundation, residents of the region and the military received the necessary assistance," Prokudin said.
According to Prokudin, today's meeting focused on the needs of the region, including those that will allow for a stable heating season, accelerate the process of reconstruction and demining.
Earlier, the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Italy opened in Odesa. The consular district covers Odesa, Kherson, Kirovohrad, Mykolayiv, Zaporizhzhya regions and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
