President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has commented on the situation in US Congress.

Asked by journalists in Spain whether he was concerned that it could jeopardise further support for Ukraine, he said that he believes people in Ukraine stopped worrying about such things in the first days of the full-scale invasion. Now it is time to work, not worry.

"I think it's too late to worry. We need to work. I was in Washington, met President Biden and heard about his 100% support. I also heard about bipartisan support in Congress," he said.

Zelenskyy added that the USA is currently in the midst of an election period, with different voices being heard and some of these voices are "very strange".

The US House of Representatives has recently removed Speaker Kevin McCarthy from his post. The procedure was initiated by McCarthy's colleague in the Republican Party, who accused the speaker of a secret agreement with Biden to help Ukraine. McCarthy denied any secret agreements.

Prior to that, Congress had approved temporary funding without aid for Ukraine.
