Ukraine will receive six Hawk air defence systems from Spain to counter Russian attacks on civilian targets and critical infrastructure, as well as to protect the new grain corridor, according to the Spanish government's website.
On 5 October, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.
Sanchez said that Spain would continue to support Ukraine's ability to protect its cities, energy infrastructure, and ports.
The Spanish prime minister announced the delivery of new air defence systems and anti-drone equipment, as well as relevant training for Ukrainian soldiers, and new demining equipment.
