Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva believes that Russian assets should not just be frozen, but used to rebuild Ukraine, as he told LB.ua.
Zhovkva noted that a few months ago, the Ukrainian side said that the partners had the most questions about paragraph 7 of the Peace Formula (bringing the Russian leadership to justice).
Currently, the work on the Peace Formula is divided into several levels. The basic one is meetings in Kyiv on each point at the level of ambassadors or representatives of embassies.
"The last [meeting] was dedicated to the seventh point. We talked about Russia's responsibility: The creation of a tribunal, compensation for damages, and the use of frozen assets. This discussion involved the most embassies compared to previous rounds of talks - almost 80 countries were represented. In addition to the countries of the Global South, new participants were added. In particular, there was the Ambassador of Israel," Zhovkva said.
He emphasised that the results of the meeting were "very positive".
"For example, no one today doubts that the tribunal is necessary, there are only discussions about its format and mechanisms. Also, no one denies that Russia's assets should not just be frozen, but used to restore Ukraine," the deputy head of the OP added.
