Three more states - Washington, Maryland and Arizona - have joined the recognition of the Holodomor of 1932-33 as genocide of the Ukrainian people and proclaimed November as the month of remembrance of the Ukrainian Holodomor-Genocide, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova says.
As of today, 31 US states have issued proclamations recognising the Holodomor as genocide.
Markarova thanked Washington Governor Jay Inslee, Maryland Governor Wes Moore, and Arizona Governor Kathy Hobbs for their solidarity with Ukraine.
The Embassy of Ukraine in the United States is actively working to expand the geography of recognition of the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
"We invite the Ukrainian community in all states to join the campaign to commemorate the victims of the Holodomor by organising educational events about the Soviet regime's heinous crime against Ukrainians committed 90 years ago," Markarova wrote.
