A group of Ukrainian military personnel has begun training on how to operate the HAWK surface-to-air missile system as part of the European Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine, the Spanish Defence Staff has said.
"As part of Spain's commitment to help Ukraine in its self-defence capabilities, the Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment No. 74 has been reassigned to train the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to operate the HAWK," it said.
Through practical training, the Ukrainian military will gain the necessary knowledge of the anti-aircraft system, which will help improve air defence capabilities in the face of threats from Russian aircraft, missiles and unmanned aerial systems.
As reported earlier, a group of Ukrainian servicemen has started training in the operation of Patriot air defence systems in Germany.
