Hungarian hauliers plan to demonstrate at the Zahony-Chop checkpoint on Monday and promised not to block the border for trucks, the spokesman for the State Border Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, has told the news telethon.

He noted that the border guards had received information from the Hungarian side that the carriers would not block the Ukrainian-Hungarian border, but would simply hold a demonstration.

The blockade of the Ukrainian border:

On the Ukrainian-Polish border, another 3,500 trucks are being held hostage by Polish strikers and are not allowed to cross the border. Meanwhile, MEPs appealed to Andrzej Duda to stop the blocking of Ukrainian trucks on the border with Poland. The Polish president was urged to take steps to stop the blockade.

For its part, the Union of Road Hauliers of Slovakia (UNAS) remains on strike alert. If there is no other option to resolve the situation, UNAS is ready to completely block the Vyšné Nemecké checkpoint in both directions.
