The operational situation in eastern Ukraine remains difficult. The Russians do not stop their offensive along the entire frontline, the commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyy, has said.
According to him, he and the commanders holding the defence in the eastern sector analysed the situation in detail and considered options for further action.
"We have jointly made the necessary decisions and taken measures to ensure the stability of our defence, save the lives of our soldiers and rationally use ammunition," he added.
On the morning of 10 December, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in its regular update that Ukrainian troops repelled 14 Russian attacks in the Bakhmut sector, 19 in the Avdiyivka sector and two in the Shakhtarsk sector.
