According to the Air Force, many of the missiles were aimed at Kyiv. However, all regions were threatened, and the missiles changed course.
There is damage in several districts in the capital, and the city is partially without electricity and water. There are 27 known wounded in Kyiv, and one woman died in an ambulance. More than 40 people were wounded in Kharkiv, one person also died.
The Russians struck Kharkiv at least four times.
In Kyiv Region, two people were killed in Fastiv district. Another 11 residents of the Region were wounded. Five high-rise buildings were damaged in Vyshneve, and private houses in other settlements were destroyed.
As of 6:43 a.m., missiles were spotted near Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyy in Kyiv Region, as well as a group of missiles on the border of Cherkasy and Kyiv Regions, heading west. In addition, missiles were flying towards Kropyvnytskyy and Cherkasy Regions. This was reported by the Air Force. According to their data, the enemy fired several groups of missiles, and Kharkiv is under threat from ballistic missiles.
The occupiers hit with missiles and drones. The explosions were heard, in particular, in Kyiv - there were no casualties there, and debris fell in the open area.
"On the night of 2 January 2024, the occupiers attacked with 35 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs from Cape Chauda in Crimea and the Primorsko-Akhtarsk region in Russia. All enemy attack UAVs were destroyed by the forces and means of the Air Force and the Defence Forces of Ukraine," the Air Force said.
