On New Year's Eve 2024, the enemy used a record number of Shahed attack UAVs. The attack was carried out in waves from four directions: Cape Chauda, Balaklava (Crimea) and Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia).
The Russians launched 90 Shahed-136/131 drones. This was reported by the Air Force.
In addition, they fired four S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles at Kharkiv Region, three X-31P anti-radar missiles and one X-59 from the occupied parts of Kherson and Zaporizhzhya Regions.
"Air alert was declared in most Regions of Ukraine along the route of the drones," the military said.
Air defences were in place in virtually all Regions. The air attack was repelled by mobile fire groups of the Defence Forces, fighter aircraft and anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force.
On New Year's Eve, the Ukrainian defenders managed to destroy a record number of Russian attack UAVs - 87 out of 90 Shahed-136/131.
