Russia attacked Kherson and Kharkiv on the evening of 30 December.
Kherson
According to the head of the Kherson regional military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, a residential building in the regional centre came under fire. One person was killed in the attack.
Roman Mrochko, head of the Kherson city military administration, added that a house in Korabelnyy district caught fire.
Later, Mrochko said that a woman of 59 years old died as a result of hostile shelling of Korabelnyy district. She was in a building that was destroyed. Thus, the number of victims increased to two people.
Kharkiv
The Office of the Prosecutor-General said that 20 people, including children and a foreigner, were wounded in a Russian attack on the centre of Kharkiv.
Pre-trial investigations were initiated into violations of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) under the procedural supervision of the Shevchenkivskyy and Kyivskyy District Prosecutor's Offices of Kharkiv.
According to the investigation, on 30 December, at around 19:10, the Russian Armed Forces launched rocket attacks on the central part of Kharkiv.
The shelling damaged a hotel, apartment buildings, a kindergarten, administrative buildings, shops, restaurants, trade pavilions and cars.
Currently, 20 people are known to be wounded, including two boys aged 16 and 14. The security adviser to the German media team, a British citizen, was also injured. Nine of the victims were treated on the spot.
