Seventy-four Russians were killed and 27 others were wounded when Ukraine hit the Novocherkassk large amphibious assault ship, the Strategic Communications Department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has said, quoting CyberResistance.
The figure is mentioned in a letter from Russian Navy chief N. Yevmenov to the mayor of Novocherkassk, in which he suggests declaring mourning in the city of Novocherkassk in connection with the death of Novocherkassk crew members and asks the city to provide assistance to the bereaved families.
The Ukrainian Defence Forces hit the Russian ship in the port of Feodosiya on the night of 25 December. The Russian news website Astra cited sources as saying that at the time of the attack, 77 sailors were aboard.
