During Russia's massive missile attack on Ukraine on the morning of 29 December, an unidentified aircraft entered Poland. This was reported by the press service of the Polish Armed Forces on X.

It is noted that the object entered the airspace from the border with Ukraine and was observed by air defence radars from the moment it crossed the border until the signal disappeared.

"In the morning, an unidentified aircraft entered the airspace of the Republic of Poland from the border with Ukraine and was observed by the country's air defence radars from the moment it crossed the border until the signal disappeared. In accordance with the current procedure, the Operational Commander of the Armed Forces mobilised the forces and means at his disposal," the statement said.

The Air Force says that the incident with the flying object should be another signal to partners that Ukraine needs more air defence capabilities to protect itself and Europe.

Colonel Yuriy Ihnat, a spokesman for the Air Force, said this during the telethon.

"As you can see, there are huge attacks... a lot of things are flying in the air, and this is not the first time such incidents have happened. They even fly into the territory of Romania, missiles and strike UAVs fall and debris, etc. The same thing happened in Poland last year. So there is nothing new. This can happen as a result of such massive attacks. The enemy is attacking our border areas in the west as well. This includes Lviv and Frankivsk Regions... This is another sign and signal to our partners to strengthen Ukraine with the necessary means to make us a shield between the aggressor and Europe, to protect both ourselves and them," he said.
