The spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuriy Ihnat, has urged Ukrainians not to ignore air raid warnings and not to use fireworks on New Year's Eve.
"Ukrainians should prepare for the New Year, but keep in mind that their own safety comes first. You need to understand that the enemy will not make any concessions to either the military or civilians. You see them hitting the centre of a city of three million people with anti-aircraft missiles. They also have missiles with a longer range. So, first of all, you need to take care of yourself, respond to air raid warnings, and no fireworks. Nowadays, fireworks are simply wrong from any point of view," he told the news telethon.
Ihnat pointed out that Russia has been massively shelling Ukraine with drones and missiles of various types over the past few days.
"Take care of yourselves, and the Air Force and Defence Forces will do everything to destroy these bastards as much as possible," Ihnat added.
On the night of 31 December, the Russian army attacked Ukraine with almost 50 Shaheds. During the shelling of Kharkiv, the Russians used Iskander missiles. On 29 December, Russia launched its largest attack on the territory of Ukraine.
