Kyivstar does not confirm the information about the alleged months-long access to subscribers' personal data by hackers and their leakage, the company's spokesperson Iryna Lelichenko has said on her Facebook page.

According to her, the investigation is still ongoing, and various versions are being considered, but "none of them can be considered final until the investigation is officially completed".

"All information on the course of the cyberattack investigation is available on the official website of the Security Service of Ukraine, which is directly involved in this process. No facts of leakage of personal data of subscribers have been revealed in the course of the investigation," Lelichenko added.

She noted that the cyberattack affected some technological systems responsible for communication, but they were restored within a few days.

"Kyivstar's network is operating as usual and provides all basic services to its subscribers. Some 99% of the telecoms equipment in the government-controlled area is in working order. Kyivstar has already taken additional measures for cyber defence, including enhanced access control, additional server and workstation monitoring systems, and further steps to strengthen cyber security are planned," Lelichenko said.
