On the eve of the Russian May Day holidays, Ukrainian cyber specialists carried out attacks on the infrastructure of major Russian Internet providers, including SibSet. As a result, thousands of users were left without Internet access.
This was reported by sources of Suspilne.
Between 30 April and 2 May, Russian media recorded a significant number of appeals and complaints from users unable to access Internet services. In particular, due to DDoS attacks, servers in Novosibirsk, Novokuznetsk, Kemerovo and Krasnoyarsk were overloaded and taken offline.
Representatives of the providers confirmed the DDoS attacks and reported disruptions to the operation of their web portals and mobile applications.
SibSet (Siberian Networks) provides broadband Internet access, IP telephony and digital television services, operating in 39 cities across Siberia.
