President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the adoption of new sanctions packages today.
He wrote about it on Telegram.
‘There was a report on our sanctions steps. There are already relevant decisions today - several new packages,’ the president said.
The first package includes 36 companies and 5 individuals operating in different jurisdictions: not only in Russia, but also serving Russian military production. These include titanium suppliers, metallurgical enterprises, companies operating in the energy sector and mechanical engineering. Some of them are already under sanctions from Western partners.
‘In general, we are synchronising our sanctions pressure and the world's sanctions against Russia for the war,’ Zelenskyy said.
The second package includes 106 entities that actively support the Russian occupiers in Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine, and supply the occupation army.
‘The third sanctions package includes 9 people, 7 of whom, unfortunately, have Ukrainian citizenship, who have linked their fate to propaganda in the interests of the Russian state and justify the war, conduct active information operations to the detriment of Ukraine and our defence in the war. We are working to ensure that restrictions on these and other sanctioned persons are supported in the jurisdictions of our partners,’ Zelenskyy said.
He also added that he had instructed to prepare the next sanctions steps.
- As reported, today Zelenskyy enacted new sanctions imposed by the National Security and Defence Council. The list includes, among others, former advisor to the head of the Presidential Office Oleksiy Arestovych and blogger Myroslav Oleshko, who illegally travelled abroad.
