The Security Service of Ukraine prevented the murder of activist and volunteer Serhiy Sternenko and detained the attacker. The woman made an attempt with a firearm, the SBU said.
She was detained on the spot. The victim's life is not in danger.
"The Security Service of Ukraine prevented the murder of a well-known civil society activist and volunteer Serhiy Sternenko. Today he was assassinated with a firearm. Thanks to the professional and immediate actions of the SBU officers, the attacker was detained on the spot. Serhiy Sternenko's life is not in danger at the moment," the statement said.
- This afternoon, Sergiy Sternenko reported that he had been assassinated. He received light injuries.
- This is not the first attempt on the activist's life. In 2018, while defending himself against the attackers, Sergiy inflicted wounds on one of them, which resulted in his death. They tried to convict Sternenko for this.
Serhiy Sternenko is a civic activist and volunteer who supplies the Ukrainian army with FPV drones.
