Today, the Security Service of Ukraine visited the office of the Kyiv Metropolitanate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church – Moscow Patriarchate, considered the main Kremlin lobbyist.
This was reported to LB.ua by law enforcement sources.
The searches are taking place in the office of Metropolitan Anthony Pakanych, the administrator. Investigative actions were also carried out at the home of Archimandrite Feognost Yurash – a friend of Pakanych.
According to our sources, new suspicions are expected. We are awaiting further details.
In December 2022, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy enacted sanctions against individuals associated with the UOC (MP). Among them is Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary – née Ivan Pakanych – Chancellor of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and member of the Inter-Conciliar Presence of the Russian Orthodox Church.
