The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption has launched a procedure to monitor the lifestyle of Petro Kotin, president of state-owned Energoatom, whose mother-in-law bought a mansion near Kyiv in 2023 for almost UAH 7 million. This is stated in a letter published by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

The audit was launched on the basis of an appeal from MPs, who referred to the investigation of the Skhemy project.

"The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption monitors the lifestyle of the declaring entities on the basis of information received from individuals and legal entities, as well as from the media and other open sources of information containing information on the discrepancy between the standard of living of the declaring entities and their declared property and income," the letter says.

The lifestyle monitoring procedure provides for the confiscation of acquired assets if their value does not correspond to official income.
