There is a second victim of the Russian shelling of Kharkiv on 2 January. This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Synyehubov.
According to him, one of the wounded, an 84-year-old woman, died in hospital.
In total, 16 victims remain in medical facilities in Kharkiv Region. There are 11 women and 5 men undergoing inpatient treatment, including a 9-year-old boy.
"According to doctors, the 9-year-old's condition is moderate and stable. The boy sustained a mine-blast injury and a soft tissue wound," added Synyehubov.
He also said that a 56-year-old man is in serious condition. "He was operated on. The victim received multiple shrapnel injuries. The rest of the patients are in moderate condition in the surgery, cardiovascular and ophthalmology departments," noted Synyehubov.
