On the night of 7 January, the Russians attacked Ukraine with 28 Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk area and three S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles from occupied Donetsk Region. Ukraine's air defence forces destroyed 21 Russian drones, the Air Force has said.
"The main areas of attack were south and east. Twenty-one enemy UAVs were destroyed by the Ukrainian Air Force and Defence Forces. Anti-aircraft missile units and mobile fire groups were engaged in repelling the air attack," it added.
The air defence was operating within Zaporizhzhya, Mykolayiv, Odesa, Dnipro, Kirovohrad, Vinnytsya and Cherkasy regions.
