The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has responded to statements by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, in which he called Ukraine a state under "absolute US influence" and hinted that it would have to give up part of its territory to Russia.
"There can be no compromise on territorial integrity. Neither for Ukraine, nor for Slovakia, nor for any other country," said Oleh Nikolenko, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
He noted that Ukraine and its partners are making efforts to push Russians from Crimea, Donbas and Luhansk regions so that they do not go further, including to Košice, Presov and other Slovak regions.
"Let's be frank: without security in Ukraine, there will be no security either in Slovakia or in Europe as a whole. We have to work together to bring Ukraine's victory closer," the Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who is scheduled to meet his Ukrainian counterpart on Wednesday, 24 January, said that at the meeting with Denys Shmyhal he would announce his intention to block Ukraine's accession to NATO.
