Russian fakes about Ukraine's downing of a plane with its own prisoners are aimed at a foreign audience. In this way, the enemy is trying to discredit Ukraine in the eyes of the international community.

Russia is doing this to reduce support for Ukrainians, Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk wrote on Telegram. He stressed that Ukraine has the right to defend itself.

"The goal is obvious - they want to reduce international support for our country. This will not work! Ukraine has the right to defend itself and to destroy the aggressor's air attack means," he said.

The commander added that the Air Force has been and will continue to defeat Russians wherever they are, protecting civilians from enemy terrorist attacks.
