Customs, tax authorities to undergo significant changes in digital transformation, Fedorov tells Nuland

As part of her visit to Ukraine, U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland met with the team of the Ministry of Digital Transformation. This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhaylo Fedorov.

The parties discussed digitalisation, the Minister presented Diia, which already has 20+ million users, and spoke about the Mriya educational app, which is to be launched soon.

Fedorov told the American delegation that "revolutionary changes" are planned for the digital transformation track.

"In particular, customs and tax authorities need them, and we already have developments in these areas and pilot projects that will become game changers in the sector," Fedorov said.

The minister noted that he was talking about customs clearance in Diia and eAccounts.

"Digitalisation will help eradicate corruption in customs clearance and bring the market of excisable alcohol and tobacco out of the shadows. We are making these areas transparent, and this is a great message for our strategic partners," Fedorov wrote.

The minister also said that the parties discussed the drone industry. Fedorov presented Victoria Nuland and US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink with the results of the Army of Drones and discussed the development of the industry.

He noted that Ukraine and its partners have ambitious plans for 2024. Fedorov expressed confidence that together these plans will be realised.
