One of the co-organisers of the blockade said that the protesters were spilling the grain "out of emotion" and that the organisers could not influence them.

On the morning of 20 February, Polish protesters intensified their protests near the Medyka-Shehyni checkpoint. The farmers blocked the railway and spilled grain from a carriage onto the tracks, Suspilne reports.

"This is a reaction to the influx of grain from Ukraine. It is very bad. People are desperate and can't help themselves. No one controls this: neither the Polish authorities nor the Ukrainian ones," said Roman Kondruv, co-organiser of the Polish farmers' protest.

According to him, the protesters are throwing grain "out of emotion".

"We have no influence on people, they can't stand it and throw it out. We are bankrupt because everything is being taken out of Ukraine uncontrollably," the co-organiser of the protest added.

For its part, Radio Liberty reported that Polish protesters blocked a railway track this morning and opened a cargo container with agricultural products. This happened near Medyka-Shehyni. The protesters blocked the railway for about 15 minutes.
