Petro Tsurukin, former editor-in-chief of the One for All project on STB TV channel and host of KYIV LIVE TV channel, was killed in the Russian-Ukrainian war, according to the parliamentary committee on the freedom of speech and the Truskavets city council.
"For more than six months, Petro Tsurukin, a resident of Truskavets, born in 1990, had been missing. Unfortunately, the worst fears were confirmed - the warrior-hero was indeed killed. We express our sincere condolences to his mother Lesya Vasylivna, family, friends and everyone who knew late Petro," the Truskavets city council said in a statement.
The parliamentary committee on the freedom of speech added that the official date of death is 4 June 2023.
According to the Institute of Mass Information, since 24 February 2022, Russia has killed 74 journalists. Ten were killed in the line of duty, 64 as combatants or as a result of Russian shelling or torture.
