A Russian strike hit a residential area in Kharkiv, injuring 12 people, including four children. The total number of victims may increase, the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleh Synyehubov, has said.

"At least 10 people sustained injuries of varying degrees as a result of today's shelling of Kharkiv. Among the wounded are four children. Apartment buildings were damaged," he said.

Mayor Ihor Terekhov added that as of 16:40 there were 12 wounded.

The number of victims may increase. All circumstances are being established. Specialists are working on the ground.

In Kharkiv, Russia hit at a playground between two high-rise buildings in Shevchenkivskyy district, a correspondent of Suspilne Kharkiv reported.

The blast wave tore off the facades and balconies of at least two buildings. The body of a dead man was found near one of the entrances.
