Latvia approves €10m aid package for Ukraine

The funds will be used to rebuild Ukraine and support the Armed Forces of Ukraine through the European Peace Fund.

The Latvian government has approved a new comprehensive assistance package for Ukraine in 2024 worth almost €10 million. This was announced by the Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Olena Kondratyuk.

According to her, the aid package includes:

  • 5.3 million for the reconstruction of Ukraine;
  • 4.3 million to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine through the European Peace Fund.

"Latvia is taking care of the restoration and reconstruction of Chernihiv Region. The government's plan for this year provides for the reconstruction of social infrastructure facilities in the Region, psychological assistance to women, digitalisation, consultations on territorial planning and EU integration," Kondratyuk added.
