A just peace is only possible through proper military power and diplomacy. This year's talks at the Ukraine-Northern Europe Summit were dedicated to this, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

He said that Russian leader Vladimir Putin now has the ability to spread the war. The situation is not as good for him as he tries to pretend, but he is still able to wreak terror and try to expand the war zone and amass troops on the border.

‘Russia is also signalling that it may be ready to commit aggressive provocations, in particular against the borders in the Baltic region. The key to positive changes for us on the frontline and in general is air defence. Russia does not have any fundamental advantage, except for the missiles and combat aircraft. We must do everything to destroy Russian military aircraft, just as we are already destroying Russian warships in the Black Sea,’ the Ukrainian president said.

To do this, Ukraine needs new Patriot systems - and this was discussed at the summit.
As for diplomacy, the President said that the most important task is to hold the Global Peace Summit. Russia is blackmailing some leaders and wants to block their participation.

The summit in Sweden was attended by Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, and Icelandic Prime Minister Bjarni Benediktsson. All of these countries have signed security agreements with Ukraine (three of them today: with Sweden, Iceland, and Norway).

At the briefing, these leaders expressed their support for Ukraine on its path to the EU and NATO and assured of continued support.
