This weekend, the first three couples were married online via video link through Diia.

According to Mykhaylo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development and Minister of Digital Transformation, the first couples to get married were activist, military officer, MP Roman Lozynskyy and Svitlana Kisilyova, a social and behavioural communications specialist and lecturer at UCU.

According to Fedorov, the couple were together during the ceremony because, in addition to their love for each other, they have a passion for innovation. That is why they were the first to get married at Diia.

"Initially, we thought that the key audience for the service was long-distance couples, but Roman and Svitlana came up with another application for the service - they combined an online ceremony and an offline wedding. Take note," the minister said.

He added that video marriage is a revolution in public services. A total of 2,500 couples have signed up for the beta test, and the service will soon be available to everyone.

"Ukraine is the first country in the world where you don't have to go to the registry office to say "I do" to your loved one. The first country in the world to allow even long-distance couples to get married. Regardless of whether the distance is measured in cities or continents," the head of the ministry said.
