The main area of attack was Kyiv Region.

"This is one of the most massive attacks by Shahed-131/136 strike UAVs. The enemy used the same number of Shaheds on New Year's Eve, 1 January 2024. Just like then, today the Ukrainian air defence withstood and repelled a massive attack of enemy drones," the Air Force Commander said.

Mobile firing groups of the entire Ukrainian Defence Forces, tactical aviation of the Air Force and Army Aviation of the Land Forces, anti-aircraft missile units and electronic warfare units of the Air Force were involved in repelling the air attack. An X-59 guided missile used by Russians to attack Mykolayiv Region was also shot down.
