After self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko's statement about Ukraine's alleged "downing of targets", the country reinforces its troops on the Gomel and Mozyr directions. Iskanders and Polonez are being deployed there.

This was reported by BelTA, citing a comment by Belarusian Defence Minister Viktor Khryenin.

Khryenin confirmed Lukashenko's words about the alleged elimination of air targets that violated Ukrainian airspace.

"Given the circumstances in Ukraine, as well as in the Kursk Region of Russia, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces has given instructions to strengthen the grouping of troops on the Gomel and Mozyr tactical directions in order to respond to any possible provocations," Khryenin said.

"Military units of special operations forces, ground troops, missile troops, including Polonez missile systems and Iskander systems, have been tasked with marching to designated areas," he added.

Andriy Kovalenko, head of the National Security and Defence Council's Disinformation Counteraction Centre, responded to the actions of the Belarusian Defence Ministry. According to him, Belarus's weapons deployment is an "attempt to help" Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin and divert the attention of the Ukrainian command to that direction.
