The Cabinet of Ministers has dismissed Oleksandr Kheylo from the post of Deputy Energy Minister. This was announced by the government's representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Melnychuk.
The announcement came after law enforcement officials published a statement about the Deputy Energy Minister being caught taking a $500,000 bribe. According to LB.ua's sources, this is Oleksandr Kheylo.
According to the investigation, the official, in collusion with the head of a state-owned coal company from eastern Ukraine and two other people, asked the head of another coal company located in the western region to provide an undue benefit of $500,000. The SBU added that the scheme was uncovered with the assistance of the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko.
