Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal discussed with U.S. Senators Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal the priority needs for Ukraine's recovery.
He announced this on Telegram.
"I am pleased to welcome U.S. Senators and friends of Ukraine Lindsey Graham (Republican Party) and Richard Blumenthal (Democratic Party) to Kyiv. He noted that continued bipartisan support of the United States is important. He thanked the Senate for voting on important initiatives for Ukraine. He voiced our need to strengthen air defence. The first F-16 aircraft are already in Ukraine, and US assistance in training Ukrainian pilots is extremely valuable," Shmyhal wrote.
He also informed the senators about our priorities, including the implementation of reforms.
"We are grateful for the US assistance in restoring the Ukrainian energy sector. One of the main challenges today is preparing for the heating season. We are restoring what has been destroyed and decentralising our energy system to make it less vulnerable to Russian attacks," the Ukrainian Prime Minister said.
The parties paid special attention to frozen Russian assets.
"It is important to confiscate them in full and use the funds for the urgent needs of Ukraine and our reconstruction. We also call on American businesses to invest in priority sectors, which will contribute to the long-term recovery and growth of the Ukrainian economy," Shmyhal said.
