President Volodymyr Zelenskyy hosted a bipartisan delegation of the US House of Representatives in Kyiv.

The parties discussed the defence of Ukraine against Russian terror. The President announced this on Telegram.

"The key emphasis is on air defence, saving the lives of Ukrainians and stopping any attempts by Russia to prolong this war. We are doing everything to achieve a just peace as soon as possible," he said.

According to the video, four congressmen attended the meeting with Zelensky. They were visiting Odesa before Kyiv.

One of the delegates shared that they were surprised by explosions on the night they arrived in Ukraine.

"We arrived here last night and we heard these several explosions. For us, it showed us, it lifted the veil, that you are facing a much bigger scale every day, and so on behalf of the Congress, I would like to say the importance of the defence package that we have provided you, particularly in terms of 155mm ammunition, and now you have F-16s. We appreciate your friendship during these difficult times, because you are on the front line of what we could understand yesterday," the congressman said.

  • As the US presidential election approaches, Ukraine is seeking to maintain bipartisan support from its American allies. President Zelenskyy has also instructed Ukrainian officials to develop relations with local US authorities at the state level.
