Ukraine currently controls 92 settlements in the Kursk Region of the Russian Federation.

This was stated by Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the meeting of heads of foreign diplomatic missions "Military Diplomacy: Resilience, Weapons, Victory".

"Today, our forces control more than 1,250 square kilometres of enemy territory and 92 settlements. We continue to strengthen our positions, stabilise certain areas and replenish the exchange fund for Ukraine. In general, this operation has become our largest investment in the process of liberating Ukrainians from Russian captivity - we have already captured the largest number of Russian prisoners in one operation, and this is a significant result, and this is one of our goals, and our actions continue," the Head of State said.

The President said that the Russian border opposite Sumy Region is now "largely cleared of the presence of the Russian army".

Zelenskyy also explained why the partners were not informed of the intention to attack the Kursk Riegion.

"A few months ago, if many in the world had heard that we were planning such an operation, they would have said that it was unrealistic and that it was crossing the allegedly reddest of all the red lines in Russia. That is why, in fact, no one has heard about our preparations. And now the real success of our soldiers speaks for itself - our active defensive actions on the other side of the border and Putin's inability to protect his territory from such defensive actions are very eloquent," the head of state said.

The president stressed that "now we have an extremely important ideological change, namely, the whole naive, illusory concept of the so-called red lines towards Russia, which dominated the assessment of the war by some partners, has crumbled these days somewhere near Sudzha."

Zelenskyy said it was important that Ukraine's partners "be in sync with us in this determination, and then Russia will have no other choice but to make a just peace.”
