Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reminded that a separate branch of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been created - the Unmanned Systems Forces. Today, the government has allocated UAH 24 billion to purchase drones for them.

‘Ukraine is the first country in the world to complete their acquisition. Modern warfare is impossible without a powerful army of drones that operates effectively and interacts with other branches of the armed forces,’ he said at a government meeting.

Shmyhal also noted that Ukraine has made a real breakthrough in the production and use of drones. The state has already contracted 1 million drones, and 500 Ukrainian companies are producing drones.

‘We are moving forward. The government is fulfilling the order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and approving a draft law that legally establishes the existence of the Unmanned Systems Forces. We make the relevant amendments to the law on the Armed Forces. After the vote in the Parliament and the signature of the President, the process of legalising the new type of troops will be completed,’ the Prime Minister said.
