The Verkhovna Rada has dismissed Justice Minister Denys Malyuska. He was a minister in the government of Oleksiy Honcharuk and retained his position after Denys Shmyhal became head of the Cabinet of Ministers.

There were 249 votes in favour. This became known from the broadcast of the meeting, which was led by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko.

Malyuska, unlike his colleagues, came to report to the session hall. He said that during his five years in office, he had felt the support of the parliament.

After voting for Malyuska's dismissal, the resignation of Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba was to be considered, but First Deputy Speaker Oleksandr Korniyenko, who was presiding over the meeting, adjourned the session.

Today, the parliament was considering a package of dismissals as part of the government reset announced by the ruling party yesterday. There were not enough votes to dismiss Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk, and the head of the State Property Fund was not dismissed. There were votes for the dismissal of Deputy Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna and the head of the Ministry of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin. The Minister of the Environment was also dismissed.

Prior to becoming minister, Malyuska worked as a consultant and private sector development specialist for the World Bank Group in 2010-2019, providing technical support to the governments of Ukraine, Belarus and Central Asia.
