After several days of fighting for his life, electrician Viktor Palamarchuk died in hospital after being seriously injured during Russian shelling on 26 August. 

This was reported by NEC Ukrenergo.

"After several days of fighting for his life, Viktor Palamarchuk, an electrician at the substation of the network service centre in the western region, died in hospital. On 26 August, during the enemy's largest missile and drone strike on energy facilities, Viktor Palamarchuk was seriously injured," the statement said.

On 7 September, Viktor Palamarchuk would have turned 56 years old.

"We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Viktor Palamarchuk," the ministry added.
