The Verkhovna Rada has appointed Matviy Bidnyy as Minister of Youth and Sports. The vote was taken by 239 MPs, the parliamentarians reported on Telegram.
The corresponding draft resolution No. 12016 was submitted to the Rada today. Prior to that, Bidnyi had been in charge of the ministry as an acting minister.
The official appointment will give him the opportunity to vote at government meetings.
- In 2016-2020, Matviy Bidnyy was the Director of the Department of Physical Culture and Non-Olympic Sports at the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
- In July 2020, he was appointed Deputy Minister.
- On 9 November 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Bidnyy as acting Minister of Youth and Sports to replace Vadym Gutzeit, who was dismissed on the same day and became the head of the National Olympic Committee.
- In 2023, Bidnyy declared UAH 1.1 million in income.
