Kamala Harris refuses to negotiate with Putin without Ukraine

However, when asked about Ukraine's membership in NATO, the democrat gave an evasive answer.

The American TV channel CBS aired an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris, who is running for the title of the first woman to lead the United States. One of the topics of conversation was the war in Ukraine.

According to The Guardian, Harris was asked if she would be willing to sit down with Russian dictator Putin. The Democrat said she would not do so on a bilateral basis, as she demands Ukraine's involvement in any negotiation process.

As for Harris's attitude to Ukraine's desire to be invited to join NATO, the politician did not give a clear answer, saying that ‘the issues will be resolved if we get to that point’. For now, ‘the United States supports Ukraine's stability and its defence against unprovoked aggression’.

Harris was also asked to say whether she considered Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a ‘close ally’ on the anniversary of Hamas' attack on Israel. However, the vice president evaded a clear answer here, pointing to ‘the important partnership that clearly exists between the American and Israeli people.’
